Mother, oh mother I must venture now.
I am ready to start out on my own.
There is no room left for me,
I'm outgrowing this place, must set myself free.
I don't want be caged here forever.
Please mother please, I'm ready to leave.
I'll be fine, I know I will.
You've taught me well, I will not fail.
The world is wide, and I will no longer stay in the shade and hide.
On the count of three I'll jump from this branch.
Once I leave, there is no turning around.
Time to fight or flight, sky or ground.
I bare myself with pride, held so high,
watch me swim into the blue sky.
I will miss you, always in my beating heart.
When the wind blows south, it's my kiss reaching you.
Step by step I'll move my way up.
I am not a kid anymore, time to grow.
I'll do my best, heart and soul on the line,
a bird's mind, when set, will follow through every time.
I really enjoyed that!
