growing up never gets any easier,
a time when all things were simpler,
the only thing to fear was the dark,
but things change quickly,
before they can even start,

we had paper crowns,
and castles made of blankets,
we never argued,
but now we all have to face it,

we can't all be brave,
it's okay to be afraid,
stop acting like you don't bend,

be ready when the trouble comes,
it will be only a matter of time,
till these steps get harder to climb,
speaking when the moments right,
still has it's place right in my heart,
it helps me be reassured that you'll be here,
